Assistant Practice Manager – Brownlow Veterinary Centre, Ellesmere, Shropshire

Here at Brownlow Veterinary Centre, we are looking for an Assistant Practice Manager to join our well-established veterinary practice! The role will entail helping with the day-to-day running of our busy mixed practice and to support the team as we progress to the next step in our future. Other duties include;

  • Maintaining a high standard of customer care
  • Liaising with the Practice Manager, Clinical Director, HR, BSM and other IVC departments as required
  • Managing customer concerns and dealing with complaints
  • Marketing the business to the local community and understanding the financials including payroll
  • P & L, EBITDA etc.

The successful candidate will work alongside our existing Practice Manager one day per week and be in sole charge (under PM and CD guidance) for the other 2 days, so we are looking for someone who has some experience in a similar role.

Ideally, the shift pattern will be 9 am-5 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with no weekend or out-of-hours work required. The salary for this role is up to £24,000 FTE depending on experience.

About Us

We are based on the Shropshire/North Wales border in the lovely town of Ellesmere. We are within easy reach of the coast and Snowdonia as well as being 1 hr away from Manchester and Liverpool so the ideal location to explore your interests. Across our 3 sites, we have a fantastic team of 6 small animal vets, 3 large animal vets (including 2 certificate holders), 2 registered veterinary nurses, 3 student veterinary nurses and 3 animal nursing assistants. All of our staff work across our 3 sites and are supported by our 5 experienced front-out-house team members. We work as a team and believe doing the right thing by our staff and patients is fundamentally critical to our ethos.
