Digital Engagement Manager – Cats Protection, West Sussex

Salary: £42,778.65 per annum (starting salary subject to experience), plus excellent benefits
Location: National Cat Centre, Chelwood Gate

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity with a nationwide network of centres, volunteer-run branches and charity shops. During 2018 we helped around 184,000 cats and kittens, an average of 500 per day.

We are looking for someone who is digitally savvy with excellent project management skills, experience of handling budgets, managing a team and a track record of devising, implementing and evaluating successful digital and social media campaigns.

The Digital Engagement team, based in the Communications department, looks after social media, email marketing and video production for our popular social media and YouTube channels. Small but busy, the Digital Engagement team produces informative cat care videos and emails as well as the charity’s e-newsletter, and works hard at building an engaged community of cat lovers online so that we can talk all things “cat” with supporters and promote better feline welfare across the UK. No two days are the same – with a busy content calendar, one day could involve jumping on a trend, the next we could be launching a major national campaign. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with lots of teams across Cats Protection so it’s the place to be if you’re a people person!

You will work within a small team alongside both internal and external stakeholders ensuring that the digital campaigns, social media, email marketing and video strategies are in line with the communications and fundraising objectives. You will plan a schedule of online activity including viral video production, leading Cats Protection influencer outreach programme, managing the national social media, email marketing and video budgets as well as line management of the social media, email marketing and video team.

An excellent communicator, you will be required to build and maintain strong relationships, working closely with fundraising teams to manage fundraising digital agencies and advising our branches and centres over their use of social media. You are creative and passionate about social trends. Talent, ideas and enthusiasm for social media are a must!

Please note the recruitment process for this position will include a telephone interview and assessment centre.
