We are looking for an Equine Centre Manager to provide overall management of the centre, staff, volunteers and equines. This is a busy, varied and extremely rewarding role where you will be responsible for:
- Managing and training staff and volunteers in line with RSPCA policy.
- Preparing budgets and monitoring expenditure.
- Maintaining a high standard of equine welfare.
- Overseeing the overall maintenance, health, safety and security of the centre.
- Fundraising, communications and media management.
- Liaising with colleagues (such as the Inspectors and veterinary professionals) on matters of policy and procedure, and contributing to working parties.
- Providing excellent customer care and acting as an escalation point for complaints.
- Overseeing equine training plans and assessments to prepare them for rehoming in liaison with senior members of centre staff.
- Assessing and verifying level 2 or 3 qualifications in training young equines.

- British Horse Society Stage 3/ Level 3 Diploma in Equine Management or equivalent.
- Qualification in equine coaching/instructing.
- Varied work experience with equine health, behaviour and handling.
- In-depth knowledge of breaking/schooling and rehabilitation of equines, including those with behavioural issues.
- Experience of taking sole charge of a Yard.
- Experience of supervising and leading others.
- Financial management and budgeting experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work under pressure and organise your own workload.
- Full manual driving licence.
- Ability to tow a horse trailer/drive a horsebox or willingness to learn within one year of accepting the post.
- Able to provide night-cover in the event of staff absence or an emergency.
