Head of Education – BSAVA, Gloucester

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the education strategy for the BSAVA based near Gloucester.  The Association’s purpose is to drive excellence in veterinary practice to improve the health and welfare of small animals.  The BSAVA delivers a full programme of education courses, its annual Congress and produces a range of publications and other resources that contribute to the continuing professional development of veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses.

The Head of Education will work with the CEO and the Board to develop and deliver integrated education strategies for the Association, enabling us to fulfil our purpose and mission.

 Skills and Experience
We are looking for an individual with a verifiable understanding of the veterinary profession and its education landscape alongside experience of providing post graduate education within the sector.

A veterinary degree is essential as is experience of veterinary education in a variety of contexts.  An academic qualification in education and experience of veterinary education assessments is desirable.  This individual will work alongside committees and volunteers and so understanding of this environment would be beneficial.

The successful candidate will have excellent oral, written and digital communication skills demonstrating an ability to produce clear and compelling and well-evidenced reports.  They will have excellent management and people skills and be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.

The Person

The right person will be focused and results driven, able to work under their own initiative and meet deadlines.  They will enjoy collaborating with colleagues, the volunteer committees and external organisations.

It is essential this individual is able to build credible relationships and influence stakeholders. We are looking for a team player who can bring enthusiasm and passion for veterinary education to this essential role.

Salary & Benefits
The salary for this role is commensurate with experience.  7% contributions towards Group Personal Pension, Life Assurance and Private Medical Insurance, 23 days holiday
