Beechwood Vets in South Dublin are looking for a Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team. We are a new, modern companion animal veterinary clinic with a young, vibrant team located in Ranelagh, Co Dublin – about 50 minutes from Wicklow. Our practice is easily accessible via public transport including the Luas and bus routes. Ranelagh is a terrific location known for its nightlife, spas, local parks and the amazing Stella theatre.

We have all the usual equipment you’d need for a busy, modern practice including a fully equipped in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, multi-parameter anaesthetic monitor and ultrasound. Our team consists of 2 Veterinary Surgeons, 2 Veterinary Nurses, 1 Animal Care Assistant and 1 Receptionist. Our Clinical Director is a double certificate holder in Surgery. We are a young, newly developed, friendly team that offers each other support and a little bit of fun in every workday.

The Role
This is a full-time permanent position of 40 hours per week. However, we would be willing to discuss flexible, part-time positions for the right person! This position would suit a nurse looking to progress their career and move into a management role.
The full-time position includes up to 40 hours per week over 5 days. Including 1 in 3 Saturdays with a day off in lieu.
There is no OOH or on-call with this role.
A Veterinary nurse’s job is invaluable and more than just a list of tasks, but your general responsibilities will include inpatient care, theatre preparation, running laboratory samples, infection control, call handling, anaesthetic monitoring, dental work, weight clinics, nurse clinics and more!
As the Head Veterinary Nurse, you will also have responsibilities in leadership and guidance for our nursing team and animal care assistants.
Salary is determined on individual experience and subject to pro-rata (Full-time or Part-time).
Applicant Requirements
We are seeking a Veterinary Nurse eligible to register with the VCI. Experience in Veterinary Practice is essential to the position of Head Veterinary Nurse.
However any student and new graduate nurses are welcome to apply to join our nursing team as we also have spaces available in our Bespoke IVC Evidensia Nurse Academy!
