Internal Communications Manager – Cats Protection, Sussex

We are looking for someone to join our Publications and Digital team as an Internal Communications Manager.

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity with a nationwide network of centres, volunteer-run branches and charity shops. During 2018 we helped around 184,000 cats and kittens, an average of 500 per day.

The Publications and Digital team is responsible for Cats Protections print and digital initiatives including information leaflets and our official publication, The Cat. The team manage the website, social media channels and branch websites. The team are also responsible for internal communications including Cat Nav and our internal newsletter, News & Views.

As the Internal Communications Manager, you’ll deliver key communications to volunteers and employees with responsibility for contributing to our core internal communication channels, including our extranet. You’ll work closely with the People team in the development and implementation of our engagement strategy for employees and volunteers. You’ll also work with Directors to develop and deliver internal communications to engage employees and volunteers in having their say in the future strategic direction of the charity. You’ll work with colleagues across the organisation to maintain content across our extranet, as well as monitor and report on user engagement with internal communications channels.

With excellent communication skills, you’ll be able to effect change through influence. You’ll be client/customer focused with a positive attitude who is able to develop engaging and innovative solutions to communications issues. You’ll be able to manage workload effectively with an empathy for cats.
