Could you introduce yourself to our members?
I joined the VMG Board in December 2024 and work alongside Helen Mason, helping to shape the strategic direction of VMG’s marketing and congress activity. My career has taken me through a mix of marketing roles, but my working life started out in sales coaching and business development.
Growing up, I aspired to be a vet, but I eventually realised that my strengths and passions lay outside the clinical side of the profession. Instead, my love of animals led me to travel the world working in freelance marketing roles and volunteering in animal shelters around the world – an amazing experience. After that, I settled back in Scotland and found my way back into marketing, where I’ve been ever since.
Tell us a bit about your day job and what you find most rewarding
I head up marketing for the Companion Animal division at IMV Imaging, leading our international marketing team in delivering campaigns across the full spectrum of veterinary diagnostic imaging. We’ve just completed our busiest season – event season – which also happens to be my favourite. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching our team’s ideas come to life and seeing our efforts showcased across each event and aligned marketing activity.
Why did you volunteer to join the VMG board and how are you finding the role?
I’ve developed a passion for the veterinary industry and, more importantly, the people in it as I spend a lot of my time in practices around the country learning about their challenges – and their many successes! It’s particularly inspiring to hear examples of how good leadership can instil greater confidence in practice teams and that this, in turn, enhances the performance of the practice.

What does leadership mean to you?
Good leadership really matters! It’s what makes the difference between just “getting through the day” and actually helping teams (and ourselves) to thrive. When I joined IMV Imaging, I was completely new to the veterinary sector. While the learning curve was undeniably steep, the industry welcomed me and created the perfect environment in which I could grow and develop. I’ve also been fortunate to benefit myself from strong leadership, where supportive and encouraging mentors (and my own team) have played a key role in helping me progress with confidence.
What do you enjoy doing outside work?
Spending time with friends and family – with a good glass of wine!
