Operational Supervisor – Blue Cross Southampton, Hampshire

As part of the management team you will work alongside the rehoming and veterinary supervisors, ensuring the smooth running of the centre and in particular, supporting the centre manager with legal compliance, health and safety and day to day operations.

You will be responsible for developing and supervising a team to provide and deliver an excellent service with high standards of customer experience and animal welfare.

The standard hours are 42 per week are on a locally agreed rota, to include bank holidays and weekends.

What is required?
We are looking for people with the following:
• Full manual driving licence
• Experience of caring for dogs, cats and small animals in a rehoming or similar environment
• Demonstrable experience of working in a busy customer service environment
• Experience of performance management, supervising and mentoring a team
• Experience of working in a challenging environment whilst successfully managing multiple tasks and resolving problems and customer concerns
• Experience of overseeing property maintenance
• Knowledge of basic veterinary procedures
• Experience of working to strict health and safety procedures.
• Experience of working within a budget
• Excellent communication, literacy, numerical, computer and administrative skills
• Experience of organising team rotas in a multifunctional workplace
• Experience of ordering stock/supplies

It would also be great if you had:
• Media Skills qualification or a high level of competence with media related IT packages
• Public speaking
• Cash handling and banking duties
• IOSHH Qualification
• First Aid at Work Qualification
• Microchip implanter qualification

Salary: £21,622 to £25,000 per annum
