Policy and Governance Director – BVA, Hybrid working (central London and home)

We are looking for an ambitious and talented Policy Director to join our senior management team. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead our policy and public affairs work and be responsible for ensuring effective governance.

You will provide strategic leadership as well as being actively involved in day-to-day delivery. You will develop robust, evidence-based policy positions which will underpin our lobbying & campaigning activity. You will have excellent analytical skills and sound political judgment, which you will use to influence our key audiences including media and government across the UK.

You will also be responsible for overseeing staff working for two small veterinary-related charities, the BVA Animal Welfare Foundation and Vetlife, and will work with them to promote our shared agendas.

We’re looking for an exceptional individual with previous experience in a similar role. You will either already be working at this senior level or be ready to make the step up.
