Practice Director – Chapelfield Veterinary Partnership, Long Stratton, Norfolk

We are looking for an experienced Practice Director to be the new guiding force behind our practice, ensuring top-tier clinical excellence and client care, fostering sustainable growth, and making staff attraction and retention a cornerstone of our strategy. The role and rota

Your main duties will include, ensuring daily operations run effectively, and maximising productivity whilst ensuring a high level of team, individual, client and patient care is achieved.

You will be involved in all aspects of practice management and will have good knowledge of HR legislation, finance, payroll and H&S. Essential leadership skills are required to motivate the team, whilst maintaining our high practice standards to ensure the continued smooth running of the practice, whilst championing client relations.

Leadership duties:

• Ambassador of our culture, values, and employer brand
• Ensure that all employees are given appropriate leadership, guidance, development, and appraisals.
• Lead by example treating all colleagues and clients with civility and respect and calling out others where they do not follow your lead.
• Promote our wellbeing and mental health initiatives focusing on the 3 key areas of breaking down barriers, signposting support and engaging with training.
• Encourage and grow effective and appropriate communication to ensure employee engagement.
• Lead by example, always displaying professional conduct.
• In collaboration with your practice leadership team, be responsible for the financial performance of the Practice including the achievement of the EBITDA as set out in the Practice Budget and Business Plan.
• Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed, included but not limited to all HR, H&S, financial, GDPR & compliance and security.
• Be responsible for ensuring staff rotas including out of hours’ provision are in place to meet our legal and professional responsibilities.
• Attend and participate in IVC meetings as requested.
• Work closely with the Area Director and Area Support Manager and colleagues at Support Operations Centre to ensure effective communication, co-ordination, and co-operation.
• Undertake other tasks as you may be asked to do from time to time.

This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours each week, either as 4 x 10-hour days or 5 x 8- hour days however we can be flexible. There will be no weekends involved and you will be managing your own diary across the 5 Chapelfield sites.

The practice was established over 120 years ago and provides excellent veterinary care via five small animal branches, in Norwich, Long Stratton, Wymondham, Costessey and Brooke and an equine clinic covering Norfolk and North Suffolk also based in Brooke.

We provide first opinion small animal practice, but with a broad range of experienced and highly qualified staff within the group, we are able to offer an exemplary level of care to our patients and clients. We pride ourselves in offering friendly personal service with empathy and expertise, encouraging our clients to have full faith in our veterinary teams.

Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience plus a relocation allowance up to £5,000
