Practice Manager – Amical Veterinary Centre, Cambridgeshire

The Practice Manager will report to the Practice Clinical Director for operational matters to ensure that all support functions within the practice run effectively at all times through clear communication, leadership, and management.

Duties include (but not limited to):
•    You will set an example of professional conduct at all times and ensure that the reception runs effectively & efficiently and provide adequate reception training to enable the team to be the best they can be.
•    Daily Banking deposits and change supplies. Cash up daily and investigate discrepancies and prepare spare cash float ready for use. Input daily taking figures into banking analysis records and Petty Cash consolidation and management. Provide practice with financial management. Managing the reconciliation of daily receipts, bank deposits, petty cash, and float in accordance with the policy, with a target of zero differences.
•    Have a basic understanding of the bookkeeping process.
•    Manage practice credit card use and co-ordinate information for corporate credit cards.
•    Sign off of monthly statements and completing financial documents and records in accordance with legal requirements.
•    To ensure that all group policies and procedures both financial and non-financial are implemented and respected. To liaise with the business support manager and colleagues at head office to ensure effective communication and co-operation.
•    Process invoices and delivery notes in accordance with the group policy and procedure.
•    Taking care of equipment and reporting immediately any items not working.
•    Prepare the monthly payroll in accordance with group policy and procedure, including holiday, company sick pay, process staff expenses and mileage.
•    Log all absence and prepare RTW documents.
•    Manage the Maternity/Paternity Day Processes.
•    Authorise reception and nurse team holiday requests. Collate all staffs monthly worked hours for payroll.
•    Recruit new staff with HR support.
•    Control CPD in accordance with the Group CPD and training policy and procedure. Filing and secure storage of all personal records for legal required time.
•    Maintain stationery supplies for all and control milk and consumable supply.
•    Purchase stamp credit, labels. Amend payment errors.
•    Archive paperwork on monthly basis.
•    Carry out any additional duties requested by the partners or senior management.

Salary

The salary for this role is up to £30,000 depending on experience.

Amical Veterinary Centre is small animal practice located in a very beautiful and friendly town called March in Cambridgeshire. We are half an hour away from cities with tourist attractions and shopping centres, like Cambridge, Peterborough. Our purpose built, modern practice has excellent facilities and a range of modern diagnostic equipment such as in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, doppler ultrasound, ECG, Dental machine, and blood pressure monitoring.

About the Team and Culture

We are dedicated team of six professional Veterinary Surgeons, and five qualified Veterinary Nurses. Alongside this we have eight members of very caring and professional support team of management, pharmacists and receptionists serving clients across the March, Wimblington, Whittlesey, Upwell and Manea practices. One of our clinical practitioners is heart certificate holder. Our very experienced surgeon is a certificate holder in advanced veterinary practice (General Small Animal Surgery). Her postgraduate certificate is in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery. We are a friendly and welcoming team and will support and welcome our new team member into the practice.

Applicant Requirements

The successful candidate needs to have a degree in business management or Certificate in veterinary practice manager (CVPM). The candidate needs to have a good knowledge of managing a larger practice and needs to be an excellent leader and active member of the team. You will also be able to demonstrate high standard of client care.
