Practice Manager – Ark Veterinary Centre, Colchester, Essex

Ark Veterinary Centre has a rare opportunity now available for a Practice Manager to join our established team. The main duties will include;

. Ensuring that all support functions within the practice run effectively through clear communication, leadership, and management.

. Ensuring an adequate non-clinical staff rota is maintained in line with the business needs.

. Organising training for all non-clinical staff to enable them to perform their duties to the highest standard.

. Complete banking, debt collection including insurance administration in line with group policy.

. Payroll.

. General office management duties including H&S, HR, and recruitment.

. Promoting the practice and supporting the Clinical Director in the implementation of improved protocols within the practice.

The working hours for the role can be flexible, however, your working week would involve working at least 30 hours over 4-5 days. There is no out-of-hours or weekend work.

The salary will be up to £30,000 dependent on experience.

Ark Veterinary Centre is a well-established, thriving, small animal practice that provides high-quality service and care to our clients. We are based in the heart of Colchester less than an hour from London with the coast and the Suffolk countryside on our doorstep giving plenty of opportunities for your time away from work.

We have an excellent, supportive team made up of 4 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 5 Receptionists/Admin, 1 Veterinary Care Assistant, and 1 Animal Care Assistant. Having a cohesive team that enjoys working together is important to us as we love to develop ideas, encourage interests and support each other through the ups and downs of daily practice. Our aim is to continually improve our standard of care and the service we provide to owners and their pets.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for someone who has experience running a busy practice either in this industry or something similar. We would like an organised individual who has the ability to adapt while maintaining attention to detail. Managerial and leadership skills are important and financial experience is preferred along with knowledge of HR and H&S policies and legislation.
