Our practice shares a location with a Pets at Home store, based at the Beaumont Leys Shopping Centre. This great location means that all kinds of amenities are right on our doorstep and we have great links for travel.

Our passionate team, all work towards the same goals of excellent patient care and offers a wide range of medical and surgical options.

We would like someone who has great problem solving skills, a love of planning and implementing projects, and enjoys managing the HR requirements for a diverse and inclusive veterinary team.

The Practice Manager is responsible for enabling the business to operate effectively on a daily basis, and most importantly, manage, encourage and motivate the team as a whole.

Veterinary experience would be preferable but not essential, as the Practice Manager works closely with the Joint Venture Partner, Lead Vet, and Head Nurse to enable the delivery of professional animal healthcare services whilst delivering the identified business objectives.

• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations in the practice
• Manage and implement HR polices for each of the valued colleagues
• Solve problems swiftly to ensure we can continue to offer the great service we strive to deliver
• Recruit, train and develop our team
• Manage your own diary to achieve all of the above

What will you need?
• Experience of managing a team
• Excellent communication skills
• Be commercially minded
• Enjoy building relationships with not only clients and patients, but the wider team
• Have a passion for developing and coaching colleagues
• Have strong organisation skills and relish taking accountability and ownership with your role

The position is 40 hours a week, with a 1 in 3 Saturday rota, with time off in lieu. We are open Monday-Friday 8am-7pm, and Saturdays 9am-5pm. We do open on Bank Holidays, 9am-5pm with no OOH work as we have a service to look after all of that for us.

We are motivated to find the right individual and as such will happily discuss rota’s or hours in order to assist your decision to work with us.

We like to celebrate our successes with the occasional Pizza Lunch for all of our staff but we feel the best reward is fairness in work and remuneration. We are open to discuss the best package for you in order for you to feel like a valued member of our team right from the off.

Our standard holiday allowance is 224 hours per year, including bank holidays, and this increases to 264 hours after being with us for 2 years.

RCVS and VDS fees are paid for by ourselves for both Vets and Nurses, and CPD funding is also available.

The salary for this position is £34,000, and as well as a contributory pension scheme, there are additional benefits including high street discounts and colleague discounts for both within the practice and with Pets at Home.

If you would like to have a further discussion with the JVP/Practice Owner, any of the other colleagues, or to come in to see the practice and meet the team as a whole, please call us on 0116 2351034.
