The role is extremely varied, rarely are any two days the same! The Practice Manager will support the Clinical Director in the running of the practice and will be involved in budgeting, health and safety, human resources, payroll management, learning and development, and recruitment.
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week Monday-Friday, however, we are flexible and therefore happy to discuss working hours that would suit you too. There are no weekend or out-of-hours requirements and the opportunity to job-share can be discussed.
The salary for this role is up to £32,000 depending on experience.
Birch Veterinary Centre is one of the largest small animal vets on The Wirral, with surgeries at Oxton, Moreton and Thingwall.
We offer same-day care to sick pets, look after animals as if they were our own, and provide 24-hour support via our OOH providers to ensure your pet is always looked after while in our care.
Our vets are OVS-trained and Defra-approved and able to offer your pets continental travel via the PETS passport scheme.
Our fantastic practice is constantly upgrading our equipment to meet the needs of our pets and has recently installed a fully equipped state-of-the-art IDEXX laboratory.
About the Team and Culture
Without a doubt, our practice is made stronger by our team comprising of 2 Clinical Directors, 1 Practice Director, 5 veterinary surgeons, 4 full-time and 3 part-time nurses plus a nursing student, 2 animal care assistants, 2 full-time receptionists, 3 part-time receptionists and 2 practice administrators.
Among us, we have 1 Surgical Certificate holder, 2 Internal medicine holders and a Schedule 3 nurse who takes an active role in theatre too.
On-going training and CPD are fully supported for all staff, as is the well-being of our team, supported by 4 mental health first-aiders.
We are looking for a manager who has experience running a busy workplace, ideally from within the veterinary industry or a similar environment.
This role will suit a candidate with prior managerial or leadership experience, with a proactive attitude who is keen to support and grow our practice team.
We need an organised individual that has excellent attention to detail, communication and people skills. Someone who is computer literate and likes to problem-solve; a positive, motivated can-do attitude will fit right in.
