Practice Manager – Castle Vets Pet Healthcare Centre, Reading, Berkshire

Castle Vets Pet Healthcare Centre have a fantastic opportunity for a Practice Manager to join their friendly team. The ideal candidate will oversee the smooth running and organisation of the practice and team members as well as other duties;
  • Working alongside the clinical directors and financial administrator to make leadership decisions in the practice.
  • Maintaining a high standard of customer and clinical care
  • Liaising with HR, BSM and IVC
  • Managing customer concerns
  • Co-ordinate maintenance and servicing of equipment in the practice
  • Co-ordinating practice standard inspections and progressing in the scheme
  • Implementing and adhering to health and safety protocols
  • Marketing of the business
  • Covering financial duties whilst current administrator is on leave
The shifts are 38 hours across 5 days per week, with flexibility in how these hours are made up. No Weekend or out of hours work.
The salary for this position is up to £40,000 DOE.

About Us

Castle Vets is a large, thriving purpose-built practice in the centre of Reading, we are well established and have a strong client base.
We have all the usual toys including a video endoscopy and a CT. We have a separate dog and cat side which extends from the waiting room through the consult rooms, prep rooms, kennels and theatres. Our out of hours is covered by VetsNow on site so have the luxury of having our inpatients cared for where they are comfortable!
We have 8 FTE vets including 2 clinical directors, a large team of registered veterinary nurses, student veterinary nurses and animal nursing assistants, supported by our experienced team of receptionists and a financial administrator who manages payroll, debt and invoicing. We also have a specialist surgeon visiting once weekly to cover orthopaedics, advanced soft tissue and neurological cases.

Applicant Requirements

Experience in the veterinary sector/a similar role is preferred. Our perfect applicant would hold further qualifications in the role i.e. ILM level 5/CVPM but not essential. Good written and verbal English, ability to manage people and complaints, organisational skills and a team player.
