Practice Manager – Deane Vets, Taunton, Somerset

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Manager to join our friendly team at Deane Vets based across our two branches at Taunton and Wiveliscombe.

The Practice Manager will be involved in recruitment, budgeting, human resources, health and safety, rota management, payroll and learning and development of the team.

You will work closely with the Clinical Director and receive wider support from the Area Support Manager and Area Director to provide leadership and support for the practice team. You will take the lead to advance the practice, and support and develop all team members.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 40 hours per week over 5 days between the hours of 8 am – 7 pm, Monday to Friday.

Salary : The salary for this role is up to £37,000 depending on experience.

We are a progressive small animal practice on the edge of Taunton. We are within easy reach of the coast, or the Big Smoke of Bristol or Exeter. We can offer forward looking veterinary care with great facilities, in a calm professional environment where team support is paramount. We are a GP practice but with plenty of scope for developing specialist interests and advancing skills.

You would join a team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses with 2 Student Veterinary Nurses and a supportive reception team. Teamwork is very important to us with frequent case discussions, support, and advice.

Applicant Requirements 

We are looking for a Practice Manager who has experience running a busy workplace or practice with prior managerial or leadership experience. Ideally the candidate would have previous experience within the Veterinary industry, but this is not essential.

The role will suit a positive, proactive, and supportive individual, who has excellent organisational and attention to detail skills.
Experience in client care, people management, payroll, and HR would be of beneficial for this position.
