Practice Manager – Grey Abbey Vet Hospital, Kildare, Ireland

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Practice Manager to join our team here at Grey Abbey Vets in Kildare!

This is a full-time position, working between 35-40 hours per week, covering Monday-Friday. Flexibility in working times is desirable.

We are looking for someone proactive with strong leadership and management skills to become a Practice Manager for our Small Animal GreyAbbey Clinic and MiNight Vet Service.

You should be a great problem solver and able to demonstrate excellent client care and communication skills, as well as effective team management on a daily basis.

The Practice Manager will work in partnership with other key members of the Practice Management team to ensure we provide an outstanding and professional service to our clients and their patients.

Within this role, you will be involved in all aspects of managing a multi-disciplinary team, including financial responsibility, debt control, client complaints, people management and premises management. You should be a great problem solver and able to demonstrate excellent client care and communication skills, as well as effective team management on a daily basis.

To be successful in this role, you will need;

  • Good knowledge of HR processes and ability to use them to include absence management and performance management
  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage their own workload, prioritise tasks and respond in a timely fashion to requests
  • Experience in managing debt within a business setting
  • Understanding of stock control
  • Ability to understand and interpret a profit and loss statement and budgets to include factors that have an impact on the P&L
  • Client care in a workplace setting that provides pet care
  • Excellent communication skills both in a one-to-one and group setting
  • Ability to hold people accountable
  • Experience in managing a large team of people

Previous veterinary experience is not essential for this role however, knowledge of the veterinary industry would be desirable. Overall, you should be resourceful with strong leadership and planning.
