Practice Manager – Highcroft Veterinary Group, Hailsham Surgery, East Sussex

Highcroft Veterinary Group have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join their team as Practice Manager.

The successful candidate will be an active member of the Management team, supporting the Clinical Director in the management of the practice and the development of the business. By recognizing and Implementing improvements, while ensuring that Highcroft continues to maintain all current accreditations with the Royal College and Investors in People, as well as retaining our status as a Veterinary Nurse Training Centre.

The Practice Manager will be involved in recruitment, budgeting, human resources, health and safety, rota management, payroll and learning and development. The role is extremely varied and stimulating, ensuring something to keep you on your toes. You will also work closely with the leaders in reception and nursing, to support development of their teams, to ensure excellent teamwork throughout the practice and the continued delivery of a high standard of customer care.

This is a full-time position, working 8-hour days across Monday-Friday.


Salary for the role of up to £35,000 per annum depending on experience.

Highcroft has been established for over 75 years, with its main clinic in Hailsham and a branch clinic in Polegate. Joining IVC in September 2020, Highcroft retains a ‘family feel’ with many members of staff working here for over 20 years. Our in-house laboratory includes a full range of Idexx analysers, Class IV K-laser is used both post operatively and during VN clinics. Separate cattery, kennel and isolation areas plus an outdoor exercise area offer excellent inpatient facilities.

Applicant Requirements 

Experience in a managerial role is required, within the Veterinary or Heath Care industry would be favoured but not essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, dealing with both clients and colleagues, are vital, as is the ability to prioritise and problem solve. Experience with Excel is important, with the ability to work with a variety of different systems and software. We are seeking a Practice Manager that matches our ethos, who has a positive can-do attitude.
