Practice Manager – Independent Equine Practice, Surrey/flexible work

Our client is an very well established 100% Equine ambulatory practice based in Surrey which is now under new management.

They have exciting plans to develop the business further and this begins with hiring a Practice Manager to join their small but mighty team of 5 vets and 5 support staff. They believe people are key to their success so are seeking a positive and inspirational leader to come and be part of this exciting phase of the business.

You will be working closely with the management team to help oversee the day to day duties of running the business whilst being involved in the future development of the practice, ensuring the team are providing an excellent and professional service to their clients and supporting the clinical and non-clinical teams. You will be responsible for managing the support team, finances, client complaints, people management, premises management and all health and safety. You will also be involved in any further recruitment of staff, overseeing staff inductions, probation reviews, appraisals and staff wellbeing.

We are seeking someone who is very organised, works efficiently and effectively, with a high level of professionalism, integrity and ethical standards. You should excel at communication, people management and customer care and be confident in your abilities, whilst also resourceful and able to problem solve when needed.

Experience in management is required and ideally having exposure to the veterinary industry, specifically equine, would be advantageous. The practice is not open at weekends, so this role is Monday to Friday only with shifts varying between 8am and 5.30pm each day. There is an option for flexible working with a mix of days in the office and remote working (to allow for protected work time) and we would also be interested in hearing from candidates seeking a different rota pattern due to some flexibility available here.

What is on offer:

The starting salary is £35,000 to £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience,  with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, generous CPD allowance where CPD is encouraged and supported including further education,  staff discounts also available.
