Practice Manager – Kingfisher Veterinary Practice, Crewkerne, Somerset

We are looking for a full time Practice Manager to join our team. The role will involve the day to day management of the practice, HR and recruitment, finance and budgeting / planning, payroll, facilities management, IT and rota support. You will be part of senior management team, alongside clinical directors and be the line manager for the head vet nurses and admin team. The position is 37.5 hour week with the option of flexible working. No out of hours work but at times may be expected to attend early meetings or work outside of office hours at certain times. Salary £40,000+ depending on experience.

About Us

We are a 4 branch first opinion small animal practice in beautiful South Somerset, not far from the South Coast and Exmoor. Well-equipped modern premises, all surgeries fully equipped but work together regularly to manage cases. Equipment includes digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy as well as certificate holders in surgery and ophthalmology and a visiting orthopaedic surgeon.

Our team is made up of 10 full time equivalent Veterinary Surgeons, approx. 20 Registered Veterinary Nurses plus trainees and 25 support staff.

Applicant Requirements

Must have experience of line management, financial awareness including payroll, and ideally have some HR expertise. Good IT skills and a problem solving approach are important. No specific qualifications required other than the above. Previous practice management experience helpful but not essential.
