We are currently looking for a Practice Manager to join our friendly team at Rae, Bean and Partners in York, North Yorkshire . Our wonderful Practice Manager has decided it is the right time for her to step down from this role and will happily remain an active member of the Rae, Bean and Partners team in her new supportive capacity as Finance Administrator. This is a part time role working 20-30 hours per week. As Practice Manager, you will have full responsibility of the day-to-day operation of the non-clinical aspects of the practice, including manage and implement HR policies for all staff, overall responsibility for finance (e.g. banking, reports, payroll, supplying regular analytical data to Head Office), managing non-clinical staff members – including recruitment, training, and development, ensuring Practice Standards are maintained, marketing and promotions, ensuring the smooth running of the practice and championing client relations.
We are a traditional mixed Yorkshire market town practice dealing will all creatures great and small. Excellent client care, communication and high clinical standards are paramount in our values. Based in the Vale of York between Harrogate and York there is easy access to the National Parks of The Yorkshire Dales and The Yorkshire Moors. We practice medicine to a high standard on both the large and small animal sectors. To achieve this, we have excellent modern facilities and equipment and we even recently featured in ‘The Yorkshire Vet’.
We are a team of 5 full-time and 2 part-time vets some of which are working towards certificates. There is 1 RVN and 5 other experienced support staff who have all been with us for numerous years. As you would expect in a practice of our size we work as a team and support each other wherever possible. Senior staff actively encourage knowledge development and are always available should you require support. Cake baking is also actively encouraged!
Previous experience of veterinary practice management is preferable, but demonstration of strong leadership and communication skills are a priority. Knowledge of HR legislation, payroll/basic book-keeping, experience in marketing/practice promotion and computer literacy are also beneficial. A successful candidate would be a progressive, organised, forward thinking individual, with a desire to always keep driving the practice forwards.
