CPD Short Course: Leading Change in Veterinary Practice (July start)
The key aim for this course is to provide you with practical strategies for delivering change in the real world. You will be invited to think about changes you want to implement or are currently delivering in your practice or organisation, and come away with tools and strategies tailored to your needs.
FORMAT & SCHEDULE
- Preparation (self-study materials provided in advance)
- PART ONE: Live online workshop day (8th July 2020; 9.30am – 4.30pm)
- Practical Application: A roadmap to put your new skills into practice over 6 – 8 weeks
- PART TWO: A live online coaching session to reflect and refine (September 2020 – final date tbc)
The online sessions will be practical and interactive. You will carry out exercises and self-assessments, as well as practice skills. We will provide a rich environment where you can discuss challenges, learn from others, share your own experiences and benefit from the knowledge and support of the group. There will be preparation and homework to do between sessions, as well as follow-up coaching for ongoing support.
We’ll focus on the people aspect of change management as our experience shows that this is what people find challenging. The focus therefore will be on how to deliver and enable sustainable change by improving communication, increasing motivation and fostering ownership and accountability. You’ll come away with tools and strategies tailored to your needs.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Take a new idea from concept to delivery
Critically assess the impact of change on their team
Negotiate successfully with those reluctant to make changes
Earn and harness support for change from their team
Analyse their own leadership style and the leadership techniques that work best for them
Reflect on their results to inform personal and professional growth
Here’s a starting point to get you thinking: five questions to answer before you start a new project.
Course fees are £120+VAT for VMG members and £155+VAT for non-members, including a DISC personality profile.
