We are recruiting for a capable and pragmatic colleague to provide operational management support to UCLan’s new School of Veterinary Medicine, which is currently under development and will launch its first courses in September 2022.

The role will ensure the smooth running of the School on both a day-to-day and long term basis, to support the delivery of all its undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This will involve leading, and seeing through to completion, detailed operational and non-academic activities on behalf of the School.
The successful candidate will directly work with the University’s full range of operational and service functions – and external contractors and partners – to ensure that their interactions are managed in a way that optimally supports the School and its team of academics. This role will also contribute to School’s objectives to meet regulatory accreditation (e.g. with RCVS) and academic quality management activities.
The postholder will hold an undergraduate degree, and/or equivalent qualifications/experience in a managerial field of study. As a self-motivated and proactive individual, the successful applicant will have a proven track record of building and sustaining internal and external relationships, alongside excellent communication and networking skills.
Previous experience of leading on complex, detailed and time-sensitive workstreams in a university or similar setting would be a big advantage for this role, as would other relevant experience to demonstrate an ability to effectively work at all levels within a network of internal and external services and stakeholders. However, previous experience of the veterinary profession is not necessary.
