I started as a student Veterinary Nurse in 1995, and progressed to Nurse and then Head Nurse in various practices in the South West. Looking for the next challenge I moved from Head Nurse to Practice Manger at a hospital and referral centre. There the Director encouraged me to study and then take the ‘Certificate in Veterinary Practice Management, which I was proud to achieve in 2013.
In 2016 I moved to North Wales and joined the corporate world, becoming a Business Support Manager for Independent Vetcare – progressing to Operations Manager for the North West in 2018. These roles gave me a great opportunity to work with lots of practices and meet some amazing leaders and managers, including close work with the team at Pride Veterinary Centre in Derby.
Missing practice life and North Wales, I returned to practice and am now Practice Director for Irby and Neston Vets (part of CVS) in Cheshire.
In my spare time, I like to get out walking in the hills with my dog and am learning to play the mandolin (lock down hobby!)
