I work for VetPartners in a Business Development Director role supporting practices across the country. I am also an RVN and have been working in the industry since 2002, plus I am a VMG Director.
To me, leadership means being available to guide, develop and support a team or an individual with compassion, patience and understanding.
My proudest achievement as a leader is when I supported a Clinical Director and Head Nurse in encouraging their RVNs to develop their schedule three skills as it had not been considered until this point. The RVNs who were keen to develop now do regular lump-removals and stitch ups which helps them feel more empowered and valued as RVNs and help ease the workload of the Vets. I have also set up whatsapp groups for regional PMs in the business which offers a wider support network for our amazing practice leaders. These group chats are used regularly and are a go to for tips and advice for all the members
