Sam has worked in the veterinary industry for 30 years in a variety of operational management, clinical and educational roles.

She qualified as RVN in 1993 having worked in mixed practice she then moved into teaching and her love of mentoring and supporting students began.

Having various teaching roles in further education and training providers, Sam progressed to Curriculum Manager in a land based college in Norfolk. Despite being responsible for more than 850 students and 50 staff, her passion for being in a classroom remained so she still ensured that some of her time was spent lecturing vet nurses and foundation degree students.

She acted as Head of Centre liaising with RCVS for many years developing and expanding the provision to support vet nurse education

At the same time Sam  still dipped her toe into clinical practice to ensure her clinical skills were current.

Moving back into operational management in the veterinary sector in 2014, firstly as an Area Manager for Medivet then as a practice director for a large small animal referral hospital she briefly went back into education  in 2018 teaching vet nurses for a couple of years before moving to her current role as practice manager for a two site IVC practice in Norfolk.

Sam remains a passionate advocate for training and development of our future veterinary leaders. She utilises her people skills to support the development of compassionate individuals and teams through connection and empowerment

Sam also holds teaching and internal verification qualifications and has a dual role at VMG as she volunteers as a director on VMG
